GERALD AHIMBISIBWE

Gerald Ahimbisibwe is a distinguished community leader with a profound track record in Youth  empowerment and community development. He has accumulated 5 years’ experience serving in  various civil society organizations. Notably Since 2021, he has served the Executive Director and  Founder of The Ability Youth Initiative (Tayinu) a youth led and youth focused community based  not for profit organization based in Isingiro, south western Uganda. Tayinu envisions a skilled and  productive youth. 

Gerald has played a pivotal role in advancing Tayinu's mission to promote equal access to quality  education and skills for improved livelihoods of at-risk children and adolescents. Under his  leadership, the Initiative has focused on transitioning out of school students with critical focus on  marginalized low-income rural communities. The Ability Youth Initiative model is a mentored  approach to chart alternative paths for students that drop out of the formal education cycle. Gerald  concerted efforts in advancing equal education and skills development opportunities stems from  his sorry family background 

Through its flagship career guidance and Mentorship program, Tayinu has upskilled over 1000 out  of school students advancing their education and improving their employability odds. Gerald is born of Kibingo Isingiro, southwestern Uganda and completed her early primary and  secondary education in Isingiro before joining Kyambogo University where he earned a Bachelor's  honors in textile and clothing technology. 

Prior to his founding roles, Gerald worked at MFABU an alumni body uniting previous Mastercard  Foundation scholars at BRAC Uganda where has been steering alumni career development and  giving back initiatives. Gerald also volunteered in various civil society organizations serving the needs  of marginalized children with notable contributions on education, health and livelihoods. These 

include BRAC Uganda, Teach for Uganda and Building Tomorrow where he spent time improving  education outcomes and welfare of children in Uganda.

The Ability Youth Initiative.

Finance Officer, 

Ronath Tusiime is a passionate and results-driven finance professional with extensive experience in financial management, reporting, and donor accountability. As the Finance Officer at The Ability Youth Initiative, she oversees budgeting, financial planning, and compliance to ensure transparency and efficient use of resources across all organizational activities.

Ronath holds a strong background in accounting and finance, and brings deep expertise in managing grant funding, preparing financial reports, and supporting audit processes. Her attention to detail and commitment to integrity help drive TAYINU’s mission of empowering communities through well-managed and sustainable programs.

Ronath is deeply committed to youth empowerment and community development as she plays an active role in supporting initiatives that promote gender equality, financial literacy, and grassroots transformation.

Before joining TAYINU, Ronath served as the Vice President of the Mastercard Foundation at BRAC Alumni Network, where she played a pivotal role in strengthening alumni governance structures, coordinating chapter leadership, and supporting the financial sustainability of alumni initiatives.

He is a “community fan”. He successfully completed Ethical Leadership Through Giving Voice to Values course (2021) authorized by University of Virginia under African Scholarship Cohort program by Distance Education for Africa, studied Bachelor of Science in Textile and Clothing Technology from Kyambogo University (2018-2023) and attended a 3-day Capacity Building training for NGOs’ sustainability (2023).

His focus is on community building, engagements and networking for last four years. His expertise in scheduling, event management, and technical support services set him apart.

MAGEZI ROBERT

Robert Magezi is a dedicated agricultural professional with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. His career journey has taken him through diverse roles that have shaped his expertise in agricultural development, management, and education.

He has served as a Regional Coordinator at TAYINU, where he contributed to organizational growth and program implementation across various communities. His experience was further enhanced through his role as Plantation Manager at CFID, where he gained valuable hands-on experience in agricultural operations and management.

Beyond his professional roles, Robert is passionate about education and knowledge sharing, having served as a Teaching Assistant in Biology-Agriculture. This role allowed him to support the development of future agricultural professionals and contribute to academic excellence in the field.

As an alumnus of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI), he has been equipped with leadership skills. This experience has strengthened his commitment to agricultural development and community impact.

Aryatweta Hudson is an enthusiastic demographer with a bachelor of science in population studies from Makerere University. He possesses a comprehensive understanding of demographic analysis ,population trends and the socio-economic factors that shape population dynamics. Throughout his academic journey ,he developed strong analytical skills ,proficiency in statistical methods ,and a keen ability to interpret and apply demographic data to real-world issues.

As a fellow at the Michigan Fellows Africa Initiatives ,he has been with a broad portfolio of technical, soft and leadership skills such as cross-cultural communication skills as well as diversity,equality and inclusion aimed at empowering women and youth across agriculture ,health and education. 

Hudson is also alumnus of Mastercard Foundation scholars Program at Brac where he gained academic ,leadership ,social impact through community charity give backs and personal development skills therefore eager to contribute to sustainable development and social progress.
